Funding Supports Local Francophone Celebrations

Newly announced funding is helping to support Francophone communities and organizations across Ontario.

The provincial government is investing $3 million through the 2026-27 Francophone Community Grants Program (FCGP). The funding will support 75 projects that protect the social, cultural and economic vitality of Francophone communities across Ontario by expanding services, improving employee training, increasing community outreach and creating new employment opportunities.

The Centre communautaire francophone de Windsor-Essex-Kent (Windsor-Essex-Kent Francophone Community Centre) is receiving $44,618 to support the Franco Festival Windsor 325, a community and cultural festival for Francophone and Francophile children and youth, families, seniors and newcomers in Windsor-Essex-Kent, celebrating 325 years of Francophone presence in Southwestern Ontario.

The Association des communautés francophones de l’Ontario, régionale Windsor-Essex-Chatham-Kent (Association of Francophone Communities of Ontario, Windsor-Essex-Chatham-Kent Regional Chapter) is being given $29,651 for the Franco Tour support Francophone tourism among youth, newcomers, and visitors in Southwestern Ontario through an awareness campaign delivered in schools and community centres and through digital platforms, as well as through training for guides and the organization of guided tours.
