Fundraising Ride Shelved

Neighbour Link-Chatham-Kent has cancelled a new fundraiser.

The inaugural Ride for Refuge was slated to be held at Mud Creek in Chatham on September 29.

Al Baker, network coordinator for Neighbour Link, says the community is suffering from volunteer fatigue because of a number of events in the area this month, including the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Pain Court.

The event was aimed at raising awareness for our community’s most vulnerable, displaced, and exploited residents, including widows and children, refugee families, and victims of human trafficking.

Baker hopes to run the Ride for Refuge next year, perhaps along a new trail near Ridgetown.
