Funds Raised at RONA and Lowe’s Stores in Southwestern Ontario

A hardware chain is helping to support non-profit groups across the country, including several in southwestern Ontario.

The Lowe’s Canada Heroes campaign ran through the month of September, with customers at Lowe’s and RONA making donations to causes selected by their local store, and the company matching donations by 50%.

At the Wallaceburg RONA store, $1590 was raised for the United Way of Chatham-Kent, earmarked for the James Street Drop-in Centre and ROCK Missions, while $3307.20 was collected at the Chatham RONA in support of the Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham-Kent.

Lowe’s in Sarnia raised $6518 to help the Sarnia-Lambton Family Counselling Centre Foundation.

In all, over $1.44 million was raised last month to support a total of 242 charities across the country.
