A concerned parent is expressing her thanks to the staff at the high school in Pain Court.
Lynne Lucier says she received a text message from her daughter yesterday morning that all the students were being evacuated from the school.
Emergency crews descended on the school and discovered a gas leak.
A statement from the school says the all-clear was sounded by 10am. “The fumes that were detected early this morning at the Pain Court Catholic High School came from a defect in the building’s air conditioning and heating system. This was quickly remedied and no chemicals were spotted inside the school by Simpson Electric, firefighters, and inspectors.”
Lucier says the staff kept in contact with parents throughout the morning until the leak was repaired and the school was deemed safe.
