More information has been released following a tornado that touched down near Glencoe last week.
A red level tornado warning was issued last Thursday evening, with heavy rain and hail pounding most of the area.
The Northern Tornadoes Project, based out of Western University, initially said an EF0 supercell tornado touched down west of Glencoe.
However, following further investigation by a damage survey team, the twister was upgraded to an EF1 with a path nearly 10 kilometres long and 250 metres wide, causing damage to barns, trailers, and trees in the area.
Officials say the storm had an estimated maximum wind speed of 145 km/hr.
The Northern Tornadoes Project was founded in 2017 to better detect tornados throughout Canada and improve severe and extreme weather understanding.
