Going Over the Edge

Tens of thousands of dollars raised and for many, a once in a lifetime experience.

50 people went “Over the Edge” to raise money for the Children’s Treatment Centre, June 23, 2018.

Saturday’s Over the Edge fundraiser for the Children’s Treatment Centre saw dozen of participants rappel down the 10-storey Holiday Inn in Chatham.

London resident Terry Hoddinott, who is blind, was thrilled to be able to take part.

“Like everybody, I think I’m a little nervous but it’s a new, exciting thing for me to try,” Hoddinott says. “I’m happy to part of the whole fundraising for the Children’s Treatment Centre, it’s a great charity.”

Executive Director Mike Genge says it was an amazing experience for everyone involved.

“We’re in the middle of our Butterfly Building Campaign and this money will go toward our new building project,” Genge explains. “About 50 people went over the edge and we haven’t got the final totals, but I think we’re going to be at about $90,000 for the day.”

Nathan Bergeron was the winner of a new car, donated by Lally Kia.
