Grabbing By The Throat Leads To Assault Charge

A 58-year-old man has been charged after an argument between two people in Chatham turned violent.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Timmins Crescent address at around 6 p.m. on Sunday to investigate an assault,

Authorities said two men had been having a verbal argument when things escalated and one of the men grabbed the other by the throat.

The accused from Chatham Township has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was taken to police headquarters before being released with conditions and a future court date.
