Guilty Officer Retires

A controversial Chatham-Kent police officer is no longer with the service.

Sergeant Robert Mugridge has retired.

The move comes in the wake of being found guilty of 50 counts of misconduct this past summer.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service was looking to have him dismissed.

Mugridge had plead guilty this summer to defrauding the public of nearly $250,000 and has been suspended with pay since May 2014.
