A recent fundraising event featuring designer handbags has raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent.
The second Spring Handbags for Hospice fundraiser was held at the Everest Convention Centre in Chatham on April 16, raising $35,500 to support local families receiving care at the Chatham-Kent Hospice.
Guests enjoyed twelve rounds of Bingo with designer handbags as prizes, a raffle table featuring over 30 generously donated items from local businesses and residents, and other giveaways.
The funds will be used to cover operational costs at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, to ensure families have access to compassionate, end-of-life care at no cost.
Plans are already in the works for next fall’s Handbags fundraiser, set to take place Thursday, October 15.
