Golfers will be teeing it up and barbecues will be smoking across Ontario as we enter the first long weekend of the season.
However, Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health says despite the great weather, we’re still under a stay at home order.
“Limit all of your outside of your home activities, avoid all gatherings indoor and outdoor,” Dr. Colby says. “It’s very hard as we’re finally getting some warm and bright weather that we have, but nevertheless, that is what is in place right now and that is a provincial order.”
Dr. Colby reminds local residents under the provincial regulations, residents are only supposed to be going out for essential purposes.
While going for a walk or hitting some trails in the area is allowed, heading to the beach is not.
“Technically that’s not essential travel. We are supposed to get outside exercise in our neighbourhood and walk the dog and do that kind of thing. But a stay at home order is exactly that.”
