A resident of Chatham, Harold James Marlatt, died peacefully on Tuesday November 4, 2014 at Meadowpark 
Nursing Home. He was born in Raleigh Township, 88 yrs ago on April 14, 1926, son of the late Roy & May (Stoner) Marlatt. Beloved husband of the late Emilie Marlatt, who predeceased him on May 12, 2014. Loving father of Wayne & Claudette Marlatt of Chatham, Dennis & Cheryl Marlatt of Owen Sound and Ron & Yvette Marlatt of Chatham. Cherished grandfather of five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Bob Marlatt of Blenheim, and the late George Marlatt, Roy Marlatt, and Madeline Turner. Harold served with Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. He owned and operated a British American Gas Station for a number of years, and then worked as a distributor for Gulf Oil in the Blenheim area until his retirement. He was a member of Branch 628 Royal Canadian Legion, Chatham, and an avid hunter and fisherman. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 7, 2014 with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Interment to follow at Pardoville Union Cemetery, Raleigh, Township. Donations in memory of Harold to Chatham-Kent OSPCA or Diabetes Association are welcome.
