McCallion visited the Retirement Residence yesterday.
“I’ve never been to Ridgetown. I’ve been to Chatham, Windsor, and London, but I’ve never been to this town before. It’s a beautiful little town, and the Revera Retirement home is such a part of the community, and the staff is so enthusiastic”, says McCallion.
She had a chance to sit down with residents, and she learned that everyone seems to know each other.
“Many of the staff that work here are from the community, and a lot of the people who’ve moved into the residence are from the community. So they knew each other before they even moved in. I think that makes this a very special home away from home”, McCallion says.
She spoke to residents about living life to the fullest, offering words of wisdom to young and old.
McCallion is the Chief Elder Officer of Revera, and is the longest-serving mayor of Mississauga, serving 36 years from 1978-2014.
