Health Coalition Meeting in Wallaceburg Tonight

The local branch of the Ontario Health Coalition is looking to bolster its ranks.

Chair Shirley Roebuck says they’ll be meeting at the UAW hall in Wallaceburg tonight in an effort to recruit new members.

“The reason we’re having the drive is to make sure Wallaceburg has a strong coalition presence. Anybody that knows the Wallaceburg story knows how many times we’ve had to save our little local hospital.”

Privatizing home care, legislation changes and local hospital support are the three big items on the agenda says Roebuck.

“It does not seem that any hospital in Ontario is free of threats right now with cutbacks from the provincial government,” Roebuck says. “We want to make sure people know about the provincial issues and how they can affect us locally.”

Tonight’s meeting gets underway at 7 o’clock.
