Heat Warning in Effect

Chatham-Kent hasn’t seen the last of summer yet – Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the next few days.

The agency says high temperatures with Humidex values in the low 40s are expected to continue until at least tomorrow, possibly into Thursday.

The sweltering conditions pose an increased risk of heat-related illness, with older adults, younger children, and those with chronic illnesses especially at risk.

Residents are also reminded to never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight.
