Heavy Rainfall To Raise Water Levels

Conservation officials are warning of raised water levels due to heavy rainfall in the forecast.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority said a cold front making its way through the region has the potential to produce 10 to 30 mm of rainfall on Tuesday.

Due to the potential intensity of the storms, water levels are expected to rise rapidly and produce localized runoff. High amounts of rainfall in a short period of time can also lead to pooling on roads and flash flooding.

Local residents are encouraged to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to potentially dangerous conditions caused by slippery banks and cold, swift-moving water.
