While the warm weather this week may lull some into a false sense of security, winter is coming.
With that in mind, the United Way of Chatham-Kent wants to make sure area residents know about some of the support services available to them.
Community Impact Director Helen Heath says there’s a hotline people can call if they’re not sure where to turn.
“211 is a 3 digit direct-dial number to get information to deal with life’s challenges,” Heath says. “Where 911 is for emergencies and 411 is for directory information, 211 is for human and social service information.”
Heath says the service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can help with anything from finding out where to get financial support for utility bills to recreation and mental health programs.
