Cement and earth barriers have been installed across the ends of several streets in Erieau to try to mitigate flooding in low-lying areas where there is no break wall.

Over a dozen homes along Rondeau Bay have been affected by high water levels, which increased by 10 centimetres on Wednesday with strong winds and waves pounding the shoreline.

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is predicting the risk for similar flooding on Sunday.
