High Water Expected To Continue Into The Weekend

More flooding is expected following heavy rains over the last few days.

Some areas along the St Clair watershed received as much as 115mm of rain over the last few days, sending the Sydenham River over its banks. It’s expected to peak in Dresden and Wallaceburg later tonight.

Meantime as the Thames River continues to rise, substantial flooding is expected along the river flats from Delaware down to Thamesville.

Officials with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority say high water levels are expected to remain through the weekend.

Water levels on McGregor Creek have nearly peaked, with no need to operate the diversion channel.
