Charges have been laid following historic incidents of domestic violence.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a domestic disturbance between two people at a Chatham residence on Friday shortly before 10:30 p.m., and found that one individual was intoxicated.
During an investigation, authorities learned of prior incidents of threats and incidents involving a weapon.
As a result, a 53-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm and assault with a weapon. He will answer the charges in court next month.
