A Chatham man has been charged after allegedly assaulting his partner on several occasions.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers arrested a 37-year-old man on Saturday at around 10:30 p.m. on Third Street following an investigation into historical intimate partner violence.
Authorities alleged the man made repeated unwanted communications, attended the victim’s residence uninvited, caused property damage, committed assaults, made threats, and used objects as weapons over an extended period of time.
As a result, the accused has been charged with criminal harassment, assault, assault with a weapon, mischief, and uttering threats. He was later released from custody with a March court date.
