A Chatham woman is in trouble with police after allegedly damaging property while in custody on an assault charge.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a home on King Street East in Chatham on Wednesday shortly before 1 a.m. and located a man and a woman.
Officers formed grounds to arrest the woman for assaulting the man and she was taken to police headquarters.
While in police custody, the woman allegedly caused damage to a holding cell.
The 21-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with assault, uttering threats, and mischief. She was released with conditions and a January court date.
