Home James spokesperson Mary Jo Greenslade says it may not feel like it yet, but the holiday season is just around the corner.
“Our volunteer base has shrunk, our driver base is getting older or they’ve moved on to other jobs or they’ve moved on. We really need new volunteers, our call volume has gone up to accommodate everybody in Chatham-Kent that uses our service and we’re looking for some committee members we need some people in the background especially those with some social media skills and are that are computer savvy to help with forms,” says Greenslade. “We had a meeting and we decided October 1st to reevaluate how our numbers were looking. The response from Chatham-Kent has been awesome and fantastic on social media. We hope they follow through. We just set up a volunteer information night. Hopefully we can get those people that have responded on social media to come out.”
Greenslade says the number of people using the service have been increasing every year.
