As the festive season continues, more volunteers are needed to ensure everyone has a safe drive home.
Home James program coordinator Jody Hogg says they’ve been busy this year with lots of calls, but they could use more helping hands.
“We have available positions for the driver, the escort driver, or the navigator,” Hogg explains. “The driver would drive the client vehicle, the escort driver would drive their own vehicle, and then the navigator would go along in the ride as a third person.”
Anyone who’d like to help out can visit the Home James website to submit an application.
The program is free, but donations are accepted with all proceeds going to support local youth groups.
“We have a form online that they would just submit what their youth group does and how much they would like to receive,” Hogg says. “Then we go through the youth group applications and chose our recipients.”
