Chatham-Kent continues to be a sellers’ market when it comes to home sales.
The Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors is out with the monthly figures, and says the number of properties sold in October was the highest on record for the month.
Sales are up twelve percent from the same time a year ago, with 138 homes changing hands.
“Home sales set another new monthly record in October, following right on the heels of September’s record,” President Steve Carroll says. “The strength of the market in the last couple of months is surprising only because of how few listings are out there for sale right now. The imbalance between supply and demand continues to push prices higher.”
So far 770 have sold in 2019, up 12.2% from the same period in 2018.
The average price of a home sold last month was $247,000, also up almost ten percent compared to last year.
