Homeowner Injured In Break-In

police lightsA Wheatley man is nursing a sore hand after a break-in last night.

Chatham-Kent Police say a man forced his way into his neighbour’s home.

When confronted by the homeowner, a struggle ensued, at which point the suspect bit the resident’s finger.

With the help of two neighbours, the culprit was trapped in a closet until police arrived.

The homeowner and suspect were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A 41-year-old Wheatley man is now facing charges of break and enter and assault.
