The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is paying tribute to its frontline staff.
One Bench One Tree is a grassroots initiative that has been honouring health care staff throughout the COVID-19 pandemic
The goal is to add at least one tree and one bench to the landscape of hospitals across Canada to thank the workers who’ve been putting their lives at risk to keep our communities safe.
The project has now been completed at the Chatham site of the Health Alliance, with an official unveiling this morning.
Funding for the project came from Keegan Kares, an online business selling bath bombs and handmade cards.
Chatham’s Earthworks Garden Centre donated the installation services, and Harris Brothers Limited donated the concrete.
Officials are hoping to expand the project to the Wallaceburg site in the near future.
