Wallaceburg resident Craig McNeil wants to see more recognition for the people of Chatham-Kent reflected in our shared infrastructure, and Councillor Jeff Wesley wants to help him.
Wesley is calling for a naming committee to be created to match deserving people with a building or bridge in Chatham-Kent.
“We actually had a naming committee in place ,we went around and looked at individuals and we did a lot of recognition, a lot of naming of bridges and structures after worthwhile citizens,” Wesley says. “This is really taking something that was sort of born in Wallaceburg pre-amalgamation and bringing it forward to Chatham-Kent, and we’ll see what staff thinks.”
The motion returns to council in two weeks’ time, on March 19th.
