Hope Wants to Reduce Phosphorus into Thames

Chatham-Kent’s Mayor wants to help reduce phosphorus loads into the Thames River.

To do this, he is bringing forward a motion to contribute $30,000 to a multi-regional strategy that will help lower the amount of phosphorus going into the Thames.

Excess phosphorus in the Thames River had contributed to the formation algae blooms in Lake Erie.

Council will discuss the motion tonight.
