Executive Director Jodi Maroney says they have lots of volunteer opportunities:
A lot of people think, ‘I’m not a nurse, I’ve never been in health care, I can’t help at the hospice,’ but that’s not the case we have gardening volunteers so if you like to get your hands dirty and have a green thumb you can come in and do that,” says Maroney. “Our kitchen is run by a part time kitchen coordinator but the the rest is all done by volunteers, they make meals for our residents and snacks for our family members. they make cookies and muffins and soups.”
Maroney says nearly everything except patient care is done by volunteers at the Hospice. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can visit chathamkenthospice.com for more information.
