
Chatham-Kent has received its first payment of the fiscal year for hosting Cascades Casino.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has paid $442,042 to the municipality for the first quarter from April 1 to June 30.
Since April 2001, Chatham-Kent has received $18,241,507 from both the former Dresden Slots and the current Cascades Casino.
Payments to host communities are based on a formula applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
Funds are put toward local infrastructure projects and community programs.
