Hot And Humid Weekend Expected

Chatham-Kent residents should expect little relief from the heat this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the region with temperatures expected to be in the low thirties, with humidex values getting up to the low forties.

The hot humid air also brings the risk of deteriorating air quality, resulting in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category.

The weather agency is advising the public to drink plenty of water and stay in a cool place. As well, people and pets should never be left in a hot vehicle.

Environment Canada says the region can expect cooler temperatures on Monday.
