A Chatham-Kent woman is facing charges after trying to find something to eat in all the wrong places.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a Birmingham Avenue home in Chatham at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, after an unknown woman entered through an unlocked back door.

While inside, the woman proceeded to take food from the kitchen and eat it. The homeowner discovered the woman in their house and asked her to leave. However, once outside, the woman entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway, where she found more food to eat.

When the homeowner yelled at the woman to get out of the vehicle, she complied but remained at the end of the driveway until police arrived.

As a result, a 46-year-old Chatham-Kent woman has been charged with break-and-enter to commit theft. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
