Highway 40 has reopened near Chatham following a two-vehicle crash that sent one person to hospital.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers responded to the highway at Countryview Line at around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, after a delivery van and an SUV were involved in a collision that also damaged a hydro pole.
The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the van was uninjured.
Following an investigation, one of the drivers, a 25-year-old from Windsor, has now been charged with failing to stop for a stop sign.
The highway was closed between Claymore Line and Cedar Hedge Line for around four hours to allow for the hydro pole to be repaired.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
