Charges have been laid against a Chatham man following a single vehicle collision near Bothwell.
Emergency crews were called to Annett Road near Lambton Line in Dawn Euphemia Township just after 5 Sunday afternoon and say a grey Jeep had crashed into the ditch. The driver was standing outside the vehicle and didn’t appear to be hurt.
Officers at the scene suspected the man may have been drinking and brought him back to police headquarters for tests.
Further investigation revealed the driver was also suspected in a pair of other crashes, one in Dresden, and one in Thamesville earlier in the afternoon.
The 40-year-old has now been charged with impaired driving and two counts of failing to remain at the scene of a collision. He was released with conditions and will be back in court next month.
