
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has handed out its first annual Innovation Awards. CEO Lori Marshall says the project tapped into the wisdom of Staff Physicians and volunteers, handing out four $10,000 grants for new programs and services at the hospital, along with 10 grants of $1,000 for smaller projects.
Among the winning submissions: a project to expand the telemedicine network service in Wallaceburg, enhancing nurse call touch screens, a virtual reality project for stroke Rehabilitation, and a mental health inpatient unit.
Marshall says they hope to make the Innovation grants an annual event.
