An outbreak of influenza has been declared at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
The Chatham-Kent Public Health declared the outbreak on Tuesday in the Complex Continuing Care Unit on the fourth floor of the hospital’s Chatham site.
The hospital said a number of additional initiatives have been implemented in response to the outbreak, which will be followed until the outbreak has ended.
Those with influenza are infectious for one to three days before the start of symptoms and remain infectious until five days after symptoms the onset of symptoms.
