Integrity Commissioner Job Up For Grabs

Chatham-Kent’s new integrity commissioner is looking at a substantial pay raise.

Outgoing commissioner Paul Watson received payment of $400 a day and $200 per half day.

He’s stepping aside from the role and council is being asked to approve Toronto based Mary Ellen Bench as her successor.

Her salary would be $1,000.00/day or $500/half day (based on 7 hour day) plus mileage and disbursements and $100 a call for phone calls regarding Conflict of Interest questions.

Council will vote on Monday.
