Municipal officials are staying tight lipped regarding the potential sale of the rail line between Dresden and Wallaceburg. 
The property was discussed during the closed portion of the council meeting Monday night.
CAO Don Shropshire says it’s early in the process.
“We’ve had some expression of interest from someone that’s interested in the railway and they’re going through their due diligence,” Shropshire says. “Any time there’s any sort of offer or consideration of a sale, that would be something that’s brought to an open council meeting and all the terms and conditions would be brought forward.”
The rail corridor was abandoned by CSX in 2006, and was purchased for roughly $3.6 million in 2013.
