Police, with the aid of the K-9 Unit, have taken over $7,000 worth of illegal drugs off the streets of Chatham-Kent.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Fourth St. Wednesday evening, when a passenger fled on foot behind several houses.

The suspect was quickly tracked down by K9 Arry who was able to trace this path, discovering a pair of clear plastic bags containing cocaine and methamphetamine.

Arry was also able to sniff out more drugs inside the suspects’ vehicle, and the driver was found to be carrying crystal meth.

A 30-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and breach of probation.

A 31-year-old from Sarnia also faces a pair of trafficking charges.
