Arry and his handler, Constable Rick Bertok, were called in to help with a pair of investigations over the last few days, including a hit-and-run collision and an armed robbery.

Constable Renee Cowell says Arry is an invaluable member of the force.

“When he’s on shift, we are utilizing him to help us track suspects, clear buildings for alarm calls, and most times he’s getting called out after-hours to help with investigations,” Cowell says.

While the Chatham-Kent Police Service K9 Unit has had as many as four dogs on its roster in the past, Arry is currently the only dog in service.

Arry, a six-year-old Belgium Malinois, responded to 143 calls for service last year alone.
