Local firefighters are hoping to keep cool and connected with local residents this summer.
Starting this weekend and continuing each Saturday through the end of August, crews from Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue will be hosting Hot Summer Nights at the W.I.S.H. Centre in Chatham and Glen Mickle Park in Wallaceburg from 6-7pm.
The events give residents a chance to meet local firefighters, check out real fire trucks, and learn more about fire safety. Kids will be able to enjoy a light mist from the fire hose, perfect for hot, summer evenings.
Fire officials say the crews will be on-duty with the possibility of being called out to an emergency, so timing and attendance cannot be guaranteed. However, all being well, the events should provide a fun and refreshing evening for the whole family.
