Strong winds could spell more trouble for the Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair shorelines.
The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority says strong southwest winds are expected to last through Saturday, with waves potentially reaching over 1.5 metres along the shoreline.
The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority is also warning of rain and gale winds causing erosion and minor flooding.
There’s a risk that wave action could damage shoreline protection works and cause erosion, all along the shorelines of Chatham-Kent, including along the high bluff areas.
Flooding should also be expected in low lying shoreline areas.
