Repairs to the Kent Bridge are ahead of schedule with the span expected to reopen on Friday.
The bridge was closed down on September 15th after several hundred litres of diesel spilled from a truck.
The waterproof membrane on the bridge began to degrade when it came in contact with the fuel, so a new membrane will be applied on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
The total cost of the repair could be as high as $300,000.
The municipality is in talks with the truck driver’s insurance to see who will be footing the bill.
