Chatham-Kent residents will lace up their running shoes next month to support those living with kidney disease.
Kidney Walk events will take place in communities across Ontario, including Chatham-Kent, this September. The local walk will take place on Sunday, September 20, at Mud Creek Park in Chatham. Registration is at 12 p.m. and the walk begins at 1 p.m.
All money raised will go to the Kidney Foundation to fund world-class research and to help deliver support programs such as a peer support program, emergency financial assistance, or information to help navigate kidney disease.
Participants will automatically receive a prize ballot for every $250 they are able to fundraise online. Each ballot will provide a chance to win a voucher for one roundtrip flight for two guests to any regularly scheduled and marketed WestJet destination.
Over the past three years, the Kidney Walk has raised more than $3 million across the province.
