Cogeco Staff Producer Erik Shaw is up for a TV Star Award.
Shaw put together a documentary on small slice of Chatham-Kent’s history and is up for the award from the media company.
Shaw is a Staff Producer and says he learned a lot of history putting together his 5 min piece on the old Merrill Hotel, now the Retro Suites.
“My favourite thing learning about (the intersection of) King and William was the CPR Hotel, that very large white building that has a great mural on the back was our first train station in Chatham-Kent, and was the funnel point into our core,” Shaw says. “The British Empire said we need to bring everything into Chatham-Kent through the Thames.”
Shaw’s piece will debut on CogecoTV Sunday at 9pm, and then run intermittently over the next three weeks.
The awards will be televised live from Kingston on June 21st.
