Along with the unofficial end of summer, the Labour Day weekend brings government service closures.
All municipal offices will be shut down on Monday, RIDE CK transit services will be parked, and Service Ontario desks in Chatham and Dresden will be closed.
Library branches across Chatham-Kent will be closed on Labour Day.
There will be no garbage or recycling collections on Monday, and pick-ups for the rest of the week will be delayed by a day.
On the healthcare side of things, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance will operate on its standard holiday schedule with ambulatory care, outpatient rehab services, and outpatient labs closed for the day. Some outpatient diagnostic tests will still be performed and pre-scheduled tests will continue as planned.
The Emergency Departments in Chatham and Wallaceburg remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
