
Attempted murder charges have been laid following a violent altercation in Blenheim.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, on Tuesday morning a man was informed he was being terminated from his job at a commercial business on James Street. The man allegedly became agitated and refused to leave the premise. During a confrontation with two supervisors, police say the situation became physical with the accused using a knife and a hatchet, with both victims suffering multiple stab wounds and lacerations.
Police and EMS responded shortly after 8:30am. The two supervisors were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The accused was also treated for unspecified injuries before being taken to police headquarters.
The 36-year-old Ridgetown man is now facing charges of attempted murder, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of using a weapon in a dangerous manner. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
