A plan to address the issues in Lake Erie is being discussed tonight in Chatham.

The federal and provincial governments are working together to reduce phosphorus and algae in Lake Erie.

At a public meeting tonight at the John D Bradley Centre in Chatham, the draft of the Lake Erie Action Plan will be presented to the community.

Phosphorus is a major contributing factor in the development of algae blooms, and lowers oxygen levels in the lake, which harms fish and other wildlife.

The meeting is open to everyone, and is from 7-9 this evening in Meeting Room 1A at the Bradley Centre.
