Lake Levels Dropping Somewhat

A glimmer of hope from the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority.

Lake levels have dropped considerably, and are no longer record setting.

Lake Erie is 37cm below the June 22nd peak, and actually 12cm below the October 1986 record.

It’s much the same on Lake St. Clair, down 22cm from the peak and 10cm below the ’86 level.

While officials say both should drop by another 12cm by the end of the month they caution that levels are still above this time last year, and winds can still cause substantial erosion and flooding.
