Plans are in the works to see graduates return to the stage for Lambton College’s first in-person convocation in two years.
As many as 600 graduating students are expected to take part in the celebration, being held at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia on June 8th.
“Convocation is a major milestone for our students and something they look forward to from the moment they step on campus. Accepting their diploma in front of their family, friends and peers is a very special moment,” said Rob Kardas, Lambton College President and CEO. “To be able to watch them cross the stage for the first time since June 2019 will be an incredible moment.”
Dr. Michel Haddad, a critical-care physician and Chief of Staff at Bluewater Health, has been selected as this year’s guest speaker, and will also be presented with an honourary diploma in Health Management & Leadership Development.
Details of the event are still being finalized as the College works to confirm capacity limits and safety protocols, in keeping with guidance from, public health and government.
A live stream of the entire ceremony will also be provided for students and their families who aren’t able to participate in person.
